How Sonic Spark's™ Patented Technology Works

Our unique Electro-Acoutsic approach to internal combustion ignition is the same concept used in space rocket engines. By burning the gasoline fuel more efficiently, more power and better mileage are afforded – at the same time providing a cleaner (healthier) engine and reduced emissions (less pollution). During compression, the Center Electrode recess is charged with fuel mixture. Upon spark ignition, the flame projects through the Ground Electrode, via a precision cavity whose diameter is perfectly tuned to generate Ultra Sound. The electro-acoustic frequency is amplified by the flame and resonates within the cylinder – which shatters the fuel droplets, accelerates the burn, significantly improving internal combustion engine efficiency – resulting in more power with better mileage. With ordinary spark plug designs, starting a cold engine generally results in the first spark flames being quenched. The standard pancake flame burns slow, and impacts randomly against the cold cylinder head. Once these failed ignition starts extinguish, additional cranking could flood the engine, drain the battery, overheat the starter motor, and increase engine wear. When ignition is achieved on a cylinder, the other cylinders will run rough until the engine is warmed.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specifies specific fuel formulas for certain areas of the country, to reduce the exhaust emissions of Carbon Monoxide and Hydro Carbon pollutants. The effectivity of the America's Oxygenated Fuel Program can be questioned: From a technical standpoint, approached with the sciences of Electronic Engineering and Chemistry, environmental emission problems remain unsolved with the addition of Alcohol or an Ether compound to the gasoline supply. Alcohol and Ether compounds increase the sparking resistance of the fuel mixture, slowing the ignition burn with misfires upon acceleration.

Basically, reformulated fuels don't burn like regular gasoline. In specific, fuels are electrical insulators, requiring very high voltage to ignite. Washington – President Clinton yesterday promoted new government standards aimed at making gasoline less polluting and car engines cleaner. The EPA says its proposal to allow the sale of low-sulfur gasoline will add just 2 cents per gallon at the gas pumps – but the oil industry says the hike will be more like 6 cents. The government will also require car-makers to build engines that burn 80 percent cleaner – and popular sports utility vehicles will have to meet the same emissions standards as cars. "The benefits of the proposal outweigh the costs by as much as four to one," Clinton said yesterday in his weekly radio address.
